About me

I’m Emma and I live with my husband John in the northern town of Warrington-that’s the town right in between Manchester and Liverpool. Not scousers, not mancs, just something inbetween.

I have worked in travel for almost 15 years and as a result, I get to travel the world and have been to the most amazing places including Australia, USA and the Caribbean.

I have a rather large and nutty family who are amazing and wouldn’t change them for the world.

I love Warrington Wolves, and I was even a mascot for them when I was 11 πŸ™‚

This blog is to share my journey in my fight against cancer. (its also the first blog I have ever done so bear with me!)

Enjoy πŸ™‚

    Hi Emma,

My name is Lauren and I’m a reporter at the Warrington Guardian. I came across your blog whilst doing some research for an article on cancer. I was wondering if you could drop me an email on lauren.hirst@nqnw.co.uk to speak about your blog in more detail.

    Many Thanks.

Hi Emma, i have just read your story in the Sarcoma charity magazine. I had exactly the same as you at 30. I had the same operation and equally the same anxieties. My sarcoma also grew at alarming rate and although i had my operation 2 weeks after my scan i was told that i was a week away from loosing my leg. I am pleased to say that 9 years later I am fit and healthy. I exercise almost every day, because i can. I hope you will find, like me, that the all-consuming nightmare of the disease becomes more of a distant memory as the years progress. You never forget, and i hate being embarrassed by my long, horrible scar but i feel lucky and grateful to be healthy, happy and well and i wish you all the luck in the world. Thank you for sharing your story.

Emma, i was just trying to think of something that has not already been said but all I can say is that I have walked in your shoes , there will be alot of tears ,laughter ,anger and sadness , you are already showing so much courage and strength and my only tip is to hold on to this and when you need a boost think of your friends and family who love you and are behind you all the way. Make sure you have a word with my old friend(not) and tell it to sod off as its wasting its time with you because you will kick its ass. You will continue to be in my thoughts Emma , lots of love Resa xxxx
