Life is for living #sarcoma

In the past few weeks, we have lost some people from the sarcoma community. People will say ‘they died from cancer’, and whilst this is technically correct, we should remember they died from sarcoma – a rare and aggressive form of cancer.

This week we saw the passing of the lovely Peter, who has lived with sarcoma for the last few years.  Pete leaves behind his wife and two very young children. He has been in contact with us over the last few years, keeping us updated with his progress, even during the last 12 weeks where he spent his time at a hospice.  This can be the reality of cancer for some people.  He strived to help people and raise awareness even when he was really poorly.
This made me think. Life is so precious and we must grasp every opportunity with both hands. Ignore people who may want to bring you down, focus on the positives and appreciate every single day that you are here. Life is a gift and should not be taken for granted.

I’ve lived with sarcoma for over three years. Would I have chosen this as my journey? No. But it is what it is. I’ve lived, enjoyed the last few years and done more than what some people do in a lifetime.

Don’t wait for something serious to make you start living your life…

Just want to say I love your attitude! I ended up on your blog by accident. I’m glad I did. I am coming up on 2 years living with stage 4 ovarian cancer and am also determined to make everyday my best day.
