You don’t have to run a marathon, climb a mountain or cycle a country to support a charity. Obviously I can’t do any do the above so I help out wherever I can by being a patient representative. I support Sarcoma UK and Clatterbridge Cancer Charity.
Most recently I’ve done quite a bit for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity – I’ve collected donations at Liverpool Lime Street, represented them at the “Pop ‘O Bells event in Widnes, and even collected donations at Langtree Park – the added bonus was that Warrington absolutely obliterated League Leaders St Helens. During these events my friends and I have helped to collect over £1500 which is wonderful.
I heard the sad news that a fellow patient lost her battle with this vile illness this morning. My thoughts go out to her two children and her family. Research is so important especially for rare cancers as they don’t get a decent share of funding! With that in mind, if you would like to donate to Sarcoma UK then take it from me – they are an amazing charity. As are Clatterbridge Cancer Charity.
My colleagues are taking on the ‘Survival of the Fittest’ challenge and they have chosen to raise funds for Sarcoma UK. I am overwhelmed by this so wanted to share their donation page – if you would like to donate please do so – every little helps!
